Everything new in iOS 26 beta 2

iOS 26 beta 2 is out now for iPhones on the developer beta. Below we’re collecting everything that has changed between the original and latest beta.

iOS 26 beta 2 changes

Control Center blur has been adjusted for legibility. The clear background now uses a darker color and much more blur.

‘Alt 1’ ring tone is now present under Reflections. This was previously discoverable in code but not visible in Settings. The presentation is still odd and certainly incomplete in beta.

Unknown senders uses a blue notification badge instead of a red notification badge to distinguish between the two types of alert badges.

ChatGPT now distinguishes between request types: Image Limit and Other Requests.

Apple Music now has a Live Radio widget … great for CarPlay! There’s also an Apple Music widget for launching search from the Lock Screen.

Stock iPhone wallpaper collection returns in beta 2. This is the collection of wallpaper options that are unique to each iPhone model. Beta 1 only included the existing wallpaper if saved, but deleted wallpapers from this collection couldn’t be restored until now.

The iOS 26 wallpaper also now uses a parallax effect that was absent during beta 1.

App icons in Dock are now left-aligned instead of center-aligned when fewer than four apps are present. It’s unclear if this is a bug or intentional.

Safari controls within the More Menu (…) have been reorganized with different sort order and icons (but same functionality).

High Contrast Mode adds borders to Liquid Glass elements, per Reddit.
