Apple unlikely to hold special event to announce iPhone SE 4

As reported on Thursday, Apple is gearing up to launch the next generation iPhone SE in the coming days. While some expect the company to hold a big event to announce new products, there’s a chance that Apple won’t hold an event to launch the iPhone SE 4 and potentially new iPads and Macs.

iPhone SE 4 to be announced via press release

As reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple plans to unveil the iPhone SE 4 on its website without a press event. The company has been following this strategy a lot in recent years. Of course, that doesn’t mean we won’t get some kind of short video to show more details about the new iPhone.

Last year, the company introduced the first M4 Macs in an “exciting week of announcements,” posting a 10-minute video each day to reveal a new Mac. The company may do this again with the new version of its more affordable iPhone.

iPhone SE 4 is expected to come with major upgrades compared to the current version. Although it won’t have anything exciting for those who already own the latest iPhones, Apple will finally get rid of the Home Button-based design to give the iPhone SE a more modern look. It will have an edge-to-edge display with Face ID for the first time.

The new iPhone SE is also expected to get an improved 48-megapixel rear camera, USB-C, and Apple’s first 5G modem.

In addition to the iPhone SE 4, Gurman also reported that iPad Air and MacBook Air stocks have been dwindling in Apple Stores, which could be a hint that new models are coming soon. Apple is rumored to update both products with the M4 chip. However, it’s unclear whether new iPads and Macs will be announced alongside the iPhone SE next week.
